The Green Man is a common sight in Medieval churches. His carved eerie face can be seen peering down at you from high above in the vaulted roof or from the top of columns. Often sprouting foliage from hair and mouth, his tortured appearance can often be disturbing.

These illustrations aim to capture this strange figure, a pagan symbol of rebirth, that seems to been allowed to reside in Christian churches.
